The Visible and the Reflected Home, 2026
Wood cutting and shaping, engraving, painting, bead appliqué, mixed media
80 × 80 cm
This work explores the idea of home not only as a physical space, but also as a spiritual space built through relationships and mutual reflection. The mirror placed at the center of the composition turns the viewer into a part of the work.
The wooden flower forms surrounding the mirror symbolize the system created by individuals coming together. The border of the work is framed with two motifs taken from the Turkic ornamental tradition: one represents continuity and sustainability, while the other symbolizes family unity.
Thus, “The Visible and the Reflected Home” presents the concept of home as a living system built on unity, continuity, and sharing.
