Under the Same Roof is an installation that reflects on the idea of the world as a shared home. It explores coexistence and equality among all living beings – humans, animals, birds, and nature – who inhabit the planet together. The work takes the form of a wooden roof structure, symbolizing a common shelter. Suspended beneath it are wooden figures representing different living beings, positioned above the viewers’ heads. These figures are rendered in a visual language inspired by illustrative carpet motifs, referencing Azerbaijan’s and world’s traditional ornamental heritage. By placing all beings under one roof without hierarchy, the installation invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the world around them and to reflect on shared responsibility, balance, and the right of every living being to exist, breathe, and grow within the same home.
